In the Lisbon Sunset Free Tour we will visit two of the city’s most beloved neighborhoods: Mouraria and Graça. Starting in Rossio, we will immediately enter the Mouraria by Largo Trigueiros, where we will talk about how immigrants changed this decadent neighborhood into a vibrant, multicultural one, mixing the most international stuff with the most Portuguese things.

At the Escadinhas de São Cristóvão and its amazing fado mural we will discover the origins and inspiration of this melancholic and heartfelt music. We will visit what is probably the oldest house in Lisbon, in Largo da Achada, and the decadent Palácio Rosa with its beautiful baroque entrance.

We will then climb the Hill of São Jorge, one of the 7 historical hills of Lisbon, as we will one of the best secret gardens in the city: the Jardim da Cerca Graça, a little oasis hidden among the labyrinthine streets. There, we will be able to admire one of the most special views of Lisbon, with the Igreja da Graça and the Castelo de São Jorge, and the Tagus river in the background: we will have reached the Miradouro da Graça. With the church behind we will enjoy a wide view of Lisbon where, according to the story, King Afonso Henriques camped his troops to get ready for the Siege of Lisbon in 1147.

We start to descend next to the old Convento das Mónicas, first a convent and later a prison, and where one of the most notable Portuguese scammers was imprisoned, as we approach the end of the tour. And what an end! We will still have time to visit the Church of São Vicente de Fora and the National Pantheon, two of the monumental icons of the city. We finish at the beautiful Jardim Botto de Machado.
